Mindy is a Registered Nurse, but her first nursing career was in veterinary medicine. She has worked for corporate practices, emergency clinics and private hosptials since 1993. Her favorite part of nursing both 2 legged and 4 legged patients is in surgery, but spends most of her time doing the bookkeeping for the hospital.
Dr. Davis and Mindy have 3 teenagers who keep them very busy, along with their lab, Kona, and cats, Miles and Sparky. In her downtime, she enjoys boating, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.
Jessica has been working in the veterinary field since 2009. She and her husband have one child, and a black terrier mix named Howard. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys camping, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. She joined our AHATC Family in January 2013.
Tammy has been a receptionist for the clinic since 2011. She has three children, Anna, Alex and Maya, two dogs, Kali and Bella, and a cat, Paxil. She enjoys working at the clinic and the chance to meet all of our clients and their pets.
Emily was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia. She moved to Champaign with her black and tan terrier mix, Owen, in 2013. She joined us as a receptionist in September 2014. Once her work day is over, Emily can be found reading, writing, taking in a movie, or hiking with Owen.
Raea began her career with Animal Hospital at the Crossing in 2014 as a kennel assistant. In 2016, she became a full-time Certified Veterinary Technician after graduating from Parkland College. Back in her hometown of Humboldt, IL, she has 2 English setters—Napoleon and Cooper Anne—and a Shih Tzu-Bichon Mix named Indie, along with pigs, chickens, and turkeys! Raea also has a beagle named Remy and an orange tabby named Oswald who live with her here in Champaign. Growing up, Raea spent her days tumbling and dancing and working for her mom at their family-owned gymnastics training center.
Nicole was born and raised in Urbana, where she still resides with her family. In 2013, she graduated from Parkland’s Veterinary Technician program and joined our staff in September of 2015, first as a kennel assistant before becoming a full time Technician. On her days off, Nicole enjoys spending her time outdoors, taking in a movie, or hanging out with her nephew, Hunter. Nicole is currently eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new dapple Dachshund to be named Little Foot.
Brooke has been a kennel assistant with Animal Hospital at the Crossing since August of 2017. She lives in Tolono with her mom, stepdad, and Maltese/Shih Tzu Mix Cubby. Brooke is currently in the Veterinary Technician program at Parkland College. After a full day of work and class, Brooke enjoys traveling, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends.
Kersten has worked at Animal Hospital at the Crossing since October of 2017. She is currently working toward a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences. Kersten hopes to one day work with both small and large animals, including her favorite animals: cows. When not working, Kersten spends her days with her German Shepherd, Boone.
Melanie joined the Animal Hospital at the Crossing team in October of 2017. She is a hard worker who always enjoys a challenge. Melanie is currently studying Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois and plans to study Veterinary Medicine. Melanie is originally from the Chicago area, where she lived with her parents and siblings, as well as with a Pomeranian named Lady.
Maddie has been with Animal Hospital at the Crossing since October of 2017. Maddie was raised in Bement, IL and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois. Eventually, Maddie is planning to study Veterinary Medicine, specifically focusing on exotics. She lives with her English Bulldog, Daisy; a Dachshund, Lucy; and Candyman the Sun Conure.
Katie has been grooming with Animal Hospital at the Crossing since October 2015. However she has over 10 years of grooming experience! She has one daughter, Olivia, and a tori cat named Lola. While Katie may be a workaholic, she loves spending quality time with her daughter and crafting.
Erin has been a Certified Canine Groomer for 8 years this coming August 2017. She has always had a lifelong love for dogs, when a mentor suggested grooming Erin did not hesitate. She has wonderful skills hand striping small terrier breeds. In the past she has showed Jack Russel Terriers, being trained by a professional dog handler. Erin also has a love for horses and has many years’ experience with large animals.
Raised on the streets of Decatur, IL, Tooter used to spend her days hunting for food and avoid getting hit by cars. Today, she is well fed and happy. She spends her spare time looking for love and affection and cuddling with Casper.
